Grand Prix de France History:

The Grand Prix de France (officially called the Grand Prix of the ACF until 1967 at its fifty-third edition) is a car race on circuit created in 1906. It was on the calendar of the world championship of Formula 1 of 1950 to 2008 on seven different circuits, except for the year 1955 when the event was canceled following the drama of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The event took place on the circuit of Nevers Magny-Cours from 1991 to 2008, before being removed from the calendar for a period of ten years.

The Grand Prix makes its comeback in the 2018 season on June 24, 2018 on the Paul-Ricard circuit1 which has already hosted the event fourteen times between 1971 and 1990. The French race, Dean of the Grand Prix (since the first was run in 1906 at Le Mans), then becomes one of the oldest Grand Prix championships, along with those of Great Britain, Monaco, Italy and Belgium, also played in the inaugural season of Formula 1 in 1950.
