Location & access

Calvi Airport is an international airport located 7 km southeast of Calvi, in the north of Corsica.

In the car, you will need on average:

  • 8 minutes from Calvi
  • 15 minutes from Algajola
  • 30 minutes from Galeria
  • 1 hour and 25 minutes from Corte, Saint-Florent

You want a vehicle with driver waiting for you on your arrival and driving you wherever you want? AEROAFFAIRES will book you the most suitable car (Mercedes S-Class, VIANO or Limousine).

Whether you dream of discovering northern Corsica in an unusual way or you need to get to another destination quickly, AEROAFFAIRES can also charter a helicopter that will be waiting for you as soon as you leave your private jet.

Renting a helicopter can provide you with more flexibility and speed than regular lines, and more comfort than some mountain roads. It is more often than we think considered the best option so feel free to ask us your questions for more information.

For example, it will only take you 25 minutes by helicopter from Calvi to Ajaccio, compared to an average of 3 hours by car, and 45 minutes by helicopter to Porto-Vecchio, compared to an average of 3h30 by car.

Useful information

The airport is open daily from 7 am until sunset plus 30 minutes; night flights are not allowed.

Its coordinates are:

  • Airport Code: CLY
  • Latitude: 42°31’14” N
  • Longitude: 008°47’34” W
  • Altitude: 64 meters
  • Runway length: 2310 m

Its 2310-metre asphalt runway accommodates turboprop aircrafts, light, medium and long-haul private jets, as well as regional and commercial planes.

Given the surrounding terrain and the slight inclination of the runway, pilots must have trained on a flight simulator beforehand. There are also significant risks of turbulence, especially in windy conditions. If the wind is too unfavourable, the planes are diverted to Bastia Airport.

A bit of history

Managed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bastia and Upper Corsica since 1956, Calvi Airport also offers immigration and customs services for passengers arriving or arriving from abroad.
Calvi is the third busiest city in Corsica. It is therefore greatly appreciated by VIP tourists, especially during summer.

Recommandations

If you are visiting Calvi, do not to miss strolling around the citadel of Calvi or the village of Sant’Antonino, classified among the most beautiful villages in France. At an altitude of 500 metres, it offers a breathtaking view of the sea and the Aregno plain. You can also visit the Bonifato forest located 20 kilometres from Calvi, where you will have the opportunity to swim in natural pools.

AEROAFFAIRES also recommends you to stay at the 5-star hotel La Signoria, whose restaurant is starred in the Michelin 2019 guide. A similar alternative is Villa Calvi, whose restaurant La Table will serve you a Corsican gastronomic cuisine.
