Useful information
Its two asphalt runways can accommodate all types of aircraft:turboprops,mid-size jetssuch as the Cessna Citation 1 and the Falcon 7X, and airliners such as the BBJ.
The charter rate for a private jet departing from or arriving at Nice Côte d’Azur starts at around €2,500 (excluding tax) per flight hour for a Very Light Jet or a turboprop, and can reach €12,000 (excluding tax) per hour for an ultra-long-range jet such as the Global 7500 or the Gulfstream G650. As a rough guide, chartering a private jet for a Paris Le Bourget–Nice flight starts at €9,700 (excl. tax) at Phenom 300, and a London Luton–Nice flight at around €15,900 (excl. tax) at Global Express. The final quote depends on the aircraft selected, the distance, positioning fees, airport taxes, and seasonality, which is particularly pronounced between May and September as well as during major events (Cannes Film Festival, Monaco Grand Prix, Cannes Lions, Monaco Yacht Show).
Seasonality and time slots to anticipate
Nice Côte d’Azur is one of the busiest business aviation airports in Europe, and its seasonal fluctuations are particularly pronounced. The Cannes International Film Festival in May, MIPIM in March, Cannes Lions in June, the Monaco Grand Prix in late May, and the Monaco Yacht Show in late September saturate the slots and aircraft parking areas. During these periods, jets may be forced to depart empty after dropping off passengers (drop-and-go) due to a lack of parking space, or be repositioned to Cannes-Mandelieu, Toulon-Hyères, or Marseille Provence. AEROAFFAIRES recommends booking at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance during these periods to secure the aircraft, slot, and parking of your choice. Outside of peak season, a flight can be arranged within a few hours, or even on the same day.
Helicopter transfer from Nice Airport
Nice Airport has two heliports (H1 and H2) integrated into the business aviation terminal, offering 14 landing pads and 2 final approach areas. This infrastructure, unique in France, allows AEROAFFAIRES to organize a seamless connection between your private jet and your helicopter transfer to Monaco (7-minute flight), Cannes (15 minutes), Saint-Tropez (35 minutes), or directly to your yacht at anchor. Five aircraft classes are available, ranging from the single-engine Airbus H125 to the Dauphin H155 VIP, with a Mercedes V-Class chauffeur service included to your final destination. The fare for a Nice–Monaco flight starts at €2,400 (excl. tax) in an AS350, and a Nice–Saint-Tropez flight starts at €4,100 (excl. tax) in an H125.

History of Nice Airport
Nice Côte d’Azur Airport traces its origins to the need to establish a postal service between Corsica and Nice as early as 1918. However, it was not until the late 1920s that the Nice Aero Club took over the facility. During World War II, the airport was converted into a military base, but after the war, it evolved into a major tourist airport, meeting the growing demand for travel to the Côte d’Azur. Over the decades, it expanded and modernized to become France’s third-largest airport, notably with the addition of a second runway in 1978 and a paved runway in 1944.
Today, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport primarily serves the city of Nice as well as the Principality of Monaco. According to the EBAA, the airport ranks among the top three busiest in Europe. In 2023, the Paris-Le Bourget– Nice Côte d’Azur route ranked as the second-busiest in Europe.
