Tanagra Air Base is open to military air traffic.

- 1939 – 1950 : the base is used as a supplementary airfield. After this period it becomes the main base of the Hellenic Air Force.
- 1975 – 2003 : French fighter aircraft, Dassault Mirage F1CG, are operated from Tanagra.
- Since 2017 : the air base becomes an annual venue for Athens Flying Week.
- January 2022 : the base welcomes its first 6 Dassault Raffale F3R fighters.
