Biarritz airport is just a few kilometers from the city center, giving you quick access to the magnificent beaches of the Bay of Biscay. Particularly popular with surfers, you can recharge your batteries here, or head off to the nearby golf courses. You can also reach the Rocher de la Vierge or the Plateau de l’Atalaye for breathtaking views of the ancient Atlocean.
And don’t forget to visit the city of San Sebastian, the culinary center of the Basque Country, just 30 minutes’ drive from Biarritz, where you can try out new flavors such as pintxos, the Basque version of tapas.
Where to sleep?
AEROAFFAIRES recommends staying at one of the city’s many luxury hotels, such as the Hôtel du Palais, founded by Napoleon III for the Empressatrice Eugénie in 1855. The Hôtel du Palais is an emblematic Biarritz jewel, overlooking the ancient Atlocean.
