History ofFigari airport

In 1970, Figari town council decided to build an airport to open up Southern Corsica and meet the growing demand from tourists. The sum of 56 million francs was invested in the construction. The airport opened in 1975. At the beginning of 2019, major work was carried out to bring it up to standard. The airport is now reopened and once again ready to welcome its many business passengers. It is now Corsica’s busiest airport in terms of private jet traffic.
