Atterheide : introduction
Atterheide airfield, also known as Osnabrück-Atterheide airfield, is open to public traffic. It houses a flying school and a catering company.
Located in the Atter district of Osnabrück, it can accommodate helicopters and turboprops.

History of Atterheide Airport
- 1912 : aerobatic pilots are allowed to use the land at Atte for flying.
- Mid-1920s : The land is used by gliders as the main airport in the area does not allow gliders to take off.
- 1932 : a flying day is organised by the engineer Reinhold Tiling to present his rockets.
- 1938 : Flight operations cease.
- 1955 : The Osnabrück Aero-Club is founded.
- 1958 : The first motorised aircraft take off from the airfield.
- 1959 : The Aero Club moves to Atterheide and the airfield is officially opened.
- 1960s : Aerobatic and parachute shows are held.
- 1980 : The runway is extended to 800 metres.
- 1986 : The tower is opened.
- 1990 : A new clubhouse is opened.
