Helicopter flight to Mont-Saint-Michel

A journey through landscapes, heritage and light.

Departure from Paris heliport
Discreet welcome at the heliport, Porte de Sèvres. Reserved parking, immediate boarding.
On board, heading west. The helicopter soars gently over the capital, then away through the Yvelines.

On the way:

  • The ordered perspectives of the Château de Versailles

  • Château de Pontchartrain, set in the heart of a valley

  • The Domaine de Groussay and its theater of greenery

  • The Châteaux de Neuville and d’O, more discreet figures in the heritage of the Ile-de-France region

The approaching bay
Gradually, the land opens up. The meanders of Normandy give way to the shifting horizon of the bay.
The Mont appears, isolated, encircled by light.
The flight takes place at low altitude, following the lines of sand and water.
Landing a few kilometers from the site, on the mainland. A vehicle awaits you for a short transfer.

Enjoy a guided tour of Mont-Saint-Michel or lunch overlooking the bay.

The return journey: landscapes and architectural lines
On the return journey, the light changes. The helicopter flies up the Suisse Normande. You can see :

  • Abbaye Blanche de Mortain

  • Château de Mesnil-Glaise

  • Le Haras du Pin, cradle of the French horse

Then Paris appears on the horizon:

  • La Défense and its Arch

  • Arc de Triomphe, in line with the Concorde obelisk

Mont-Saint-Michel: a little history

Mont-Saint-Michel traces its origins back to 708, when Aubert, Bishop of Avranches, is said to have commissioned the construction of a sanctuary dedicated to the Archangel Saint Michael, following an apparition. The Benedictine abbey, built over the centuries, soon became a major medieval pilgrimage site and a symbol of faith and resistance, particularly during the Hundred Years’ War, when it withstood English assaults.

Situated in the heart of a bay subject to the highest tides in Europe, the Mont was also an impregnable fortress and a strategic site. Its spectacular architecture, clinging to a rocky islet, bears witness to nearly 13 centuries of religious, military and cultural history.

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, it now attracts millions of visitors who come to admire the perfect fusion of nature, spirituality and human genius.
