Nagoya Chubu Centrair: introduction
A discreet hub on the water, serving Japan’s industrial heartland.
Located 35 km south of Nagoya, on an artificial island in Ise Bay,Chūbu-Centrair International Airport offers a seamless link to Japan’s economic heartland. The μSky train connects the airport with Meitetsu Nagoya station in 28 minutes, while the journey by car takes around 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic.
With a capacity of around 9 million annual passengers, and expansion plans underway, including the construction of new runways to increase capacity by 60% by 2027.
Terminal 1: open from 4:40 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. (until 1:00 a.m. on late flight days).
Terminal 2: departures from 4:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., arrivals from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
TheAccess Plaza and certain areas of Terminal 1(Welcome Garden, arrivals hall) remain accessible 24 hours a day.
However, it is important to note that certain periods may be subject to temporary closures for maintenance or other operational reasons. For example, NOTAMs may indicate specific closures, such as the one on April 29 from 02:45 to 05:15 local time.
Centrair has a single north-south runway (18/36), 3,500 metres long and 60 metres wide. This configuration can accommodate a wide range of aircraft, from light private jets to intercontinental widebodies.
The approaches are equipped with ILS, RNP and VOR systems, guaranteeing safe operations even in adverse weather conditions.
