History of Nantes Atlantique Airport

The first aviation camp was created in 1928 to house military aviation workshops. In 1939, the grass track was replaced by a concrete runway; thereafter, the Germans, realizing the strategic importance of the site, seized the airport. Many infrastructures were destroyed before the French army reclaimed the place in 1951; commercial movements started again.
