Description of BELL 206
All you need to know about the Bell 206
The Bell 206 is a family of two-bladed, single- and twin-engined helicopters, manufactured by Bell Helicopter at its plant in Quebec. It is a very popular model and is often used for traffic surveillance, medical emergencies and business transport. Originally developed as the Bell YOH-4 for the U.S. Army’s Light Observation Helicopter program, it is now marketed for commercial use.
Bell redesigned the helicopter to give it a more attractive, sleeker look and added 16 ft3 (0.45 m3) of cargo space in the process. After this reinvention, the company successfully branded the aircraft as the Bell 206A JetRanger. The new design was eventually selected by the Army as the OH-58 Kiowa. Equipped with a single Mono Turbine engine, the helicopter can transport four passengers.
