Description of ECLIPSE 500
Produced by Eclipse Aviation between 2001 and 2008, the official name of the Eclipse 500 is the Eclipse Aerospace EA500. This twin-engine business jet, operated by two pilots, can cover a distance of 1900 km in 2.5 hours at 685 km/h in a spacious cabin measuring 3.78 metres and 1.3 metres in height.
This aircraft belongs to the very light jet category, meaning it has a low weight. It is one of the first of its generation, thus was one of the pioneers for this type of private jet.
Despite its light weight, it is capable of flying between 1000 and 1500 kilometres and is ideal for very short distances with several stops. It really comes into its own when used for private leisure flights such as a flight over the Bay of Nice or a lunch trip to Cannes from Geneva. The Eclipse 500 is very popular for the Nice – Ajaccio route.
