1/ Courchevel, France

It’s hard to resist the charms and splendour of Courchevel. Known for its palaces and luxury boutiques, Courchevel also owes its reputation to its ski area, the largest in the world, with 600 kilometres of pistes. Courchevel is made up of four villages, including Courchevel 1850, which is accessible by private plane thanks to its altiport.

Courchevel is unique in having an altiport with strict access conditions. The altiport is not certified for night flights and flight operations are sometimes limited to certain times of the day for weather reasons. What’s more, as the runway is very short and steep, there is only one air operator accredited to land in Public Transport and with qualified pilots.

There are two ways to get to the Courchevel altiport:

  • Arrive directly at the foot of the Courchevel slopes:
  • Arrival in Chambéry or Geneva by private jet, followed by transfer by helicopter or car to Courchevel:
    • Transfer between Chambery and Courchevel by car (1-hour journey) or helicopter from €1,600 for a 20-minute flight.
    • Transfer between Geneva and Courchevel by car (2-hour journey) or helicopter from €2,400 for a 30-minute flight.
