History of Lausanne airport

Also known as “Lausanne – La Blécherette”, Lausanne airport was one of Switzerland’s first civil airfields. Created in 1910, it was expanded over the years and added its first hangar in 1922.

Today, it handles some 35,000 movements a year, with business and private aviation accounting for almost 10% of traffic. It is also one of the airfields of the Swiss Air Rescue Guard.
