Located in Oxfordshire County, London Oxford Airport is 15 km from downtown Oxford. It will take you about 20 minutes to reach the city by the A34 and about 1.5 hours from London by the M40 and A40.

History of London Oxford Airport

Created in 1935 to serve as a base for the Royal Air Force, London Oxford Airport was then called RAF Kidlington. This is where the RAF flight school was located. It still exists today and provides the most renowned pilot training courses in Europe.
Oxford Airport was renamed London Oxford in 2009 because of its proximity to the British capital.
