Just a stone’s throw from the heart of Melbourne,Essendon Fields Airport is located around 11 km from the city center, and can be reached in around 20 minutes via the Tullamarine Freeway.

Essendon Fields Airport operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, night-time restrictions apply between 11.00 pm and 6.00 am, during which only certain operations are permitted, including emergency flights and medical services.

Essendon Fields has two asphalt runways:

  • Runway 08/26: 1,921 meters long, suitable for medium-sized aircraft such as the Fokker F100.

  • Runway 17/35: measuring 1,504 meters, it is suitable for light jets and turboprops.
