About the EC 145 twin-engine helicopter
The EC 145 is a twin-engine light utility helicopter developed and manufactured by Airbus Helicopters. It can carry up to nine passengers along with two pilots, depending on the configuration. The helicopter is used for passenger transport, business aviation, emergency medical services (EMS), search and rescue, government and utility roles. There are also several military variants of this helicopter used for various missions.
This aircraft was an improved version of its predecessors, the BK 117 C1 and the EC 135. Several features of the aircraft were redesigned, giving the new model a greater range and payload capacity, a larger, more spacious cabin area, reduced vibration and noise emissions, and reduced operational costs. The EC 145 is actually 60% quieter than the BK 117 C1.
