How to reach Geneva Cointrin airport?
Geneva Cointrin airport is located 4 km northwest of the city. It takes 17 minutes by car to reach the city center from the airport.
To join your private flight, head for the airport and go to the Tag Aviation terminal, located at 20 Chemin des Papillons, or Jet Aviation located at 18 Chemin des Papillons. History of Geneva Cointrin Airport
It was near the village of Cointrin that the Geneva Grand Council decided to set up an airport in 1919. The runway was 1,200 meters long and it was not until 1946 that the first terminal was built.
In the 1950s, an exchange of land with France was made to lengthen the track to reach the 3,900 meters that we know today.
Since 2001, the airport hosts each year a major exhibition of aeronautics: the EBACE.
