Dornier 328: a bit of history
The Dornier 328 was created by the German aircraft manufacturer, Dornier. The company was founded between the wars in 1922 by Claudius Dornier. Machining of this aircraft began in the 1980s. After numerous military aircraft and seaplanes, Dornier wanted to meet the needs of regional aviation and passenger transport. The 33-seat Dornier 328-300, or Dornier 328JET, opened up a new market for small regional jets in the aircraft industry in the late 90s. It made its maiden flight in 1998. The aircraft was approved, certified and delivered in 1999. In 2010, 100 units are in service.A few dates:
