ExecuJet Aviation Group is a business aviation company, a subsidiary of Executive Jet Investments, headquartered at Zurich Airport in Switzerland. Established in 1991, ExecuJet operates in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East, employing over 800 people worldwide. The group offers completion consultancy, fixed base operations, aircraft management and charter services. The company provides global, customised and comprehensive aviation solutions to its customers.

History of Execujet

  • 1991: ExecuJet was founded in Johannesburg, South Africa, and began operating as a maintenance provider.
  • A year later, the airline extended its offering to include the sale of business jets. ExecuJet subsequently expanded to Denmark, under the name ExecuJet Scandinavia, and then to Dubai with ExecuJet Middle East, extending its Bombardier sales franchise to 10 countries in the Middle East.
  • 2000 : foundation of ExecuJet Australia, including an aircraft management and maintenance centre at Sydney Airport.
  • 2001: expansion of the company’s activities into Latin America and then Europe with ExecuJet Europe, including aircraft management and fixed base operations.
  • 2015 : acquisition of ExecuJet by the Luxaviation group, Europe’s leading business aviation operator, initiating a process of centralising its operational services within a shared services structure based in Cambridge, England.
  • 2019 : Luxaviation sells ExecuJet’s aircraft maintenance business to French aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation, relocating the company’s offices and employees to Newmarket, a market town in Suffolk, England.

ExecuJet has continued to expand internationally since the 2000s, establishing a solid foothold in the business aviation market with the opening of multiple new FBO stations in Frankfurt, Barcelona, Melbourne, Ibiza, Lagos and Bali, operating in a total of 34 locations worldwide.

The Execujet fleet

Part of the Luxaviation group of companies, which includes the top-of-the-range aeronautical brands Luxaviation, Luxaviation Helicopters and Starspeed, ExecuJet offers a wide range of business aircraft in several categories and types.

Execujet turboprop aircraft

Propeller or turboprop aircraft are the most economical options for travelling short or medium distances with 1 to 19 passengers on board, depending on the model, with the advantage of being able to land at much smaller airports, often inaccessible to jets and airliners.

Propeller or turboprop aircraft are capable of cruising at speeds of between 300 and 500 kph over distances of between 1,000 and 2,500 kms on average.

ExecuJet has around fifteen turboprop models, including the Beechcraft King Air Beech B1900D, the Beechcraft King Air B200 and the Pilatus PC-12 from Hawker and Pilatus.

Very Light Jet

In the business jet family, these are the smallest entry-level models, capable of carrying 4 to 8 people over relatively short distances. These private jets generally need only a short distance to land, and can therefore land at both large international airports and small airfields as close as possible to your destination.

ExecuJet has just one private jet of this type, the Citation M2 from the American aircraft manufacturer Cessna. The aircraft is based in Cape Town, South Africa, and can carry up to 4 passengers. It has a relatively spacious and quiet cabin, making for pleasant travel for its passengers.

Light Jet – Light private jet

These are the smallest members of the private jet family, accommodating an average of 7 people in their cabins. They are very popular for short-haul journeys, because they are economical, versatile and efficient. As with very light jets, hold baggage storage is limited, but differs according to the model of aircraft you fly with.

ExecuJet’s fleet of light jets comprises 6 aircraft of different types and manufacturers:

  • Bombardier
  • Hawker Aircraft
  • Pilatus

ExecuJet has the following light jets from these manufacturers: Nextant 400XT, Bombardier Learjet 45 and 45XR, Pilatus PC-24.

Midsize Jet – Intermediate private jet

Midsize private jets are the perfect combination of efficiency, comfort and performance for business aviation. These aircraft are capable of flying further and faster than small jets, so they have a long range and can carry up to 10 passengers over distances of 3,000 to 4,000 km. These medium-sized jets are ideal for passengers who need to travel and work comfortably on board, with flight times equivalent to commercial aircraft. Both fast and quiet, these mid-size jets are ideal for those seeking the comfort of a large jet and the versatility of a private jet.

The airline has around ten midsize jets, from the manufacturers mentioned above, as well as from Cessna.

The midsize jets owned by ExecuJet include the Citation VII and the Challenger 350.

Large Jet – Long-haul private jet

These jets are among the top of the range, combining comfort and cutting-edge technology. With a range of up to 14,000 km, these aircraft are mainly designed for private intercontinental travel. They are generally configured to seat up to fifteen passengers. These aircraft are unique in that they often have very large baggage compartments, and the on-board services are luxurious: stewardess, hot meals on tables, bathrooms, wifi, etc.

ExecuJet has 8 private jets of this type, from Bombardier and French manufacturer Dassault.

The large jets owned by ExecuJet include the Embraer Legacy 600, the Falcon 2000XL, the Falcon 50EX and the Challenger 600.

Ultra long-range private jets

These aircraft have a range of 8,500 km to 12,900 km, and can, for example, fly from Paris to Los Angeles without a technical stopover, just like a long-haul flight. Their cabins, divided into several areas, are flexible, with a variety of seating, dining and sleeping configurations, all designed to ensure optimum comfort for passengers on long journeys.

The airline has 6 models of ultra long-range jets, including the Bombardier Global 7500, or the Bombardier Global Express XRS.

Long-haul business aircraft

This long-haul “ultra widebody” business jet can seat up to 19 passengers. Long-haul private jets are larger in size and capacity than the previous categories. For long-haul journeys, this aircraft offers a luxurious experience, with a modular cabin for working or resting, and an optional bedroom and bathroom for exceptional comfort.

ExecuJet owns the Lineage 1,000 model from Brazilian manufacturer Embraer. This business jet is based in Dubai.

Helicopters

ExecuJet also has a fleet of around ten helicopters built by Bell, Airbus and Augusta.

These aircraft can carry up to 6 people, and are an ideal means of air transport for short flights of less than 300 km, enabling passengers to escape to destinations where there is no nearby airport, such as certain islands, ski resorts, hotels, stadiums, etc. Helicopter flight is not subject to take-off slots, as in aviation. So you can take off and land as you like, at any time you like. This makes the helicopter particularly popular for resupply or emergency situations, since it is immediately available.
