The drivers of the F1 World Championship will be revealing their skills on a 5.7km track designed to enhance the spectator experience: the S de la Verrerie and the Camp bend will be lengthened and a chicane will split the Mistral straight into two parts to offer braking from 344 to 114 kph at the exit of the DRS zone. Thrills guaranteed! The legendary Signes curve will be negotiated at over 340 km/h… The circuit’s surface will also be resurfaced over the winter, providing the perfect adornment for the Formula 1 cars.

History of the French Grand Prix:

The Grand Prix Automobile de France (officially known as the ACF Grand Prix until its fifty-third edition in 1967) is a motor racing circuit created in 1906. It featured on the Formula 1 world championship calendar from 1950 to 2008 on seven different circuits, with the exception of 1955 when the event was cancelled following the tragedy of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The event was held on the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit from 1991 to 2008, before being withdrawn from the calendar for a period of ten years.

The Grand Prix makes its return for the 2018 season on 24 June 2018 at the Circuit Paul-Ricard1, which hosted the event fourteen times between 1971 and 1990. The French round, the oldest Grand Prix (the first was held in Le Mans in 1906), will once again become one of the oldest Grands Prix in the championship, along with those of Great Britain, Monaco, Italy and Belgium, which were also contested during the inaugural season of Formula 1 in 1950.
