Aberdeen: introduction
Aberdeen is a port city in northeastern Scotland, at the estuary of the Dee and Don rivers, which flow into the North Sea. Its offshore oil industry attracts an international population. Moreover, Aberdeen is nicknamed “the granite city” because of its many eternal gray granite buildings. The 19th century Marischal College is a typical example: a monumental building from the Victorian era, today it is the seat of the municipal council.
