Saint-Tropez: introduction
AEROAFFAIRES offers private jet charter and helicopter transfers to La Mole Saint-Tropez from or to Paris le Bourget, Ibiza, London, Lyon, Strasbourg, Bordeaux…etc, as well as from La Mole Saint-Tropez airport for domestic flights within France to Nice, Cannes and Monaco airports, and to Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, England, Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the USA.
Located in the heart of the Côte d’Azur, La Môle Saint-Tropez airport has a terminal entirely dedicated to private aviation. It is one of the smallest international airports in the world, but also a vector of notoriety for the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. St Tropez confirms its place in the world of high-end tourism.
TheLa Môle aerodrome has its own limitations, and a number of external factors such as the size of clouds, heat or wind conditions need to be taken into account when planning your trip, as they may limit your ability to act on site. In particular, it is advisable to take off or land in the morning or at the end of the day, rather than in the afternoon. The best times to avoid are between 12pm and 5pm. This is the period when restrictions are most likely to be applied, and it will help you avoid a probable detour of the plane, to Toulon for example.
Useful information
La Môle Saint-Tropez airport is open 7 days a week, from 9am to 5pm in winter and from 8am to 7pm in summer. Extensions can be requested for take-off around 7:30 am and later arrival if before sunset, as night flights are not possible.
The airport has a SkyValet terminal entirely dedicated to business and private aviation.
Bear in mind that flights are limited by the short length of the runway (1071 m available for take-off and 931 m for landing), allowing turboprops (such as King Air models) and light private jets (such as Citation Mustang, Phenom 100 or Phenom 300 models), but restricting access to larger aircraft. Weather conditions are also a major limitation, as the airport is surrounded by high relief. If the outside temperature is too high (affecting the asphalt runway), or if wind speeds exceed 30 km/h, for example, aircraft are redirected to Toulon Hyères airport. Pilots must obtain a special qualification from the Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile Sud-Est. With over 4,000 aircraft, the number of commercial movements is further limited to 10,000 a year, to avoid noise pollution.
In September 2016, several border crossings were closed, including La Môle. As the airport no longer had customs status, only flights to and from the Schengen area were possible, a decision not without consequences. Finally, since July 2017, the border post has been open during the high season only, so international flights can take place from June 15 to September 30. For other times of the year, please refer to Toulon-Hyères, Cannes-Mandelieu, Nice or Marseille airports.

-
Highly seasonal :
-
Private traffic explodes from May to September, with a peak in July and August.
-
Helicopter transfers from Nice, Cannes or Toulon are saturated at this time: summer traffic is dense. However, AEROAFFAIRES is able to organize transfers even at the last minute, thanks to its network of operators and its ability to anticipate.
-
The Gendarmerie de l’air and the DGAC step up controls in high season (identity, security, slots).
-
-
La Môle is a restricted airport:
-
limited opening hours (closed at sunset, no night flights),
-
demanding approach procedures (steep valley, wind, relief),
-
the need for qualified crews authorized to operate at this airfield.
-
-
Parking is very limited. In summer, aircraft don’t stay parked for long: they drop off passengers and take off again.
-
Its single runway, oriented 06/24 (length: 1,180 m, asphalt surface, parallel taxiway, PAPI lighting, beaconing) is used only during the day – night operation is prohibited.

La Môle Saint-Tropez airport is located in the French commune of La Môle, in the heart of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, 15 kilometers south of Saint-Tropez.
If you wish, AEROAFFAIRES can reserve a chauffeur-driven vehicle for you on arrival or departure from the airport. Mercedes Classe S, VIANO or Limousine, we’ll put the most suitable car at your service for as long as you want.
Access to the airport by car is :
- Coming from Toulon on the RD98: follow the signs for “Saint-Tropez” until you reach a traffic circle, where you turn off in the direction of “La Môle”. Please note that both directions will take you to Saint-Tropez, but only the one on the left will take you to the airport.
- From Port Grimaud or Saint-Tropez: take the Route du Littoral, then “Hyères Toulon” and finally “La Môle”.
AEROAFFAIRES can also reserve a helicopter to take you there as quickly as possible. As some jets are not authorized to take off and land from Saint-Tropez airport, an interesting alternative is to travel with the plane of your choice to cities such as Nice, Cannes, Marseille or Monaco, and then be transferred by helicopter. The helicopter transfer is point-to-point until you arrive in the center of town; an opportunity to discover it from the air and optimize your time.
