Description of Challenger 604
For the Challenger 604, Bombardier has once again taken the Challenger’s design and improved and modernized the excellent base design of this intercontinental aircraft. This update included new avionics with Rockwell Collins Precision Plus, increased cabin comfort with a volume of 19 m2, electric de-icing on the wings, larger fuel tanks with auxiliaries, General Electric CFE34-3B engines and Safran landing gear.
The Challenger 604 flies at 830 km/h but over an impressive range of 7,700 km. A true long-haul business jet, it can fly from London to as far as South Africa or Eastern Russia. This aircraft is often requested for flights from Paris to New York or Washington.
The aircraft is positioned as a very good machine because of the versatility of its potential uses: corporate jet, VIP transport, maritime surveillance, or in a medevac version for medical evacuation… A flight from Nice to Abu-Dhabi, for example, will take 6 hours and 40 minutes for 6-8 passengers on board. This is a private aircraft that is widely available since there are 27 Public Transport approved aircraft in Europe.
