Amelia is the French airline of the Regourd Aviation group. It was founded by CEO Alain Regourd in 1976. Its head office is in Paris. It adopted the name “Amelia” in 2019, so that the activities of the Regourd Aviation group could be unified under a single name.
The group is made up of several subsidiaries, including Amelia International, based in Slovenia. Amelia’s DNA is business aviation and it offers a wide range of air transport services. AEROAFFAIRES introduces you to this airline.

The development and subsidiaries of the Amelia airline.
From 1997 onwards, Amelia continued to expand and its CEO set up new subsidiaries in the airline sector.
That year saw the launch of the business airlines Octavia and Occitania at Le Bourget international airport.
The following year, the airline Equaflight was set up in Congo, Africa, operating scheduled flights between Pointe-Noire and Brazzaville.

In 2008, another subsidiary, Equajet, opened its doors in Congo to offer private aviation services in the African regions.
Business aviation in Africa continues to grow. In 2012, Amelia acquired the Slovenian company Aero4M, which specialises in aircraft maintenance, particularly helicopters.

In 2019, thecivil aviation company wishes to unify its activities by simplifying its name and adopting the new name of : Amelia.
Finally, in 2020, Amelia will launch regular routes in France, including Paris – Rodez, Paris – Brive, Strasbourg – Amsterdam and Strasbourg – Munich(all operated by Embraer 145).

The activities of the airline Amelia
The airline operates to 467 destinations in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
The basic principle of this airline is to follow the codes of business aviation. It offers flights on demand, tailor-made and personalised according to the requests and needs of its customers. Amelia offers a range of services, thanks also to the diversity of its fleet of business aircraft.
Business and private flights :
First of all, business aviation means regional medium-haul flights on demand or VIP flights. All you have to do is choose your destination and Amelia will offer you flights adapted to your needs with its fleet of aircraft at different ticket prices.
Group flights :
The company also offers group flights. With its multiple aircraft capable of carrying up to 144 people, team travel (for company seminars or sporting events, for example) is perfectly feasible.
Air freight :
The airline Amelia knows how to respond to all private flight missions. Air freight is a fast-growing aviation activity. Amelia adapts to its market and knows how to meet the demand for cargo flights.
Amelia is able to operate flights with a dedicated cargo aircraft. This aircraft can carry up to 7.9 tonnes of cargo.
Sanitary flights :
Amelia can charter a flight 24 hours a day for urgent missions in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
It takes very little time for the teams on the ground or on board to take off. The aircraft dedicated to medical repatriation missions can accommodate up to two stretchers and up to 42 passengers.
Amelia’s fleet of private aircraft
The airline’s fleet of business jets comprises 18 aircraft of 7 types. The aircraft chosen by the airline enable it to carry out all the flying activities it offers.
Amelia also opts for more economical models that challenge the major aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus. Here are the different types of aircraft used by Amelia.
Amelia uses aircraft from the aircraft manufacturer ATR
At ATR, aircraft production is based on a number of criteria. In fact, one of the common features of their turboprop aircraft is their ability to take off and land on smaller runways than other similar aircraft. So they have access to more airports.
What’s more, these turboprops are fuel-efficient (they consume around 30% less than similar aircraft), so this is an advantage for Amelia.
The company has therefore acquired 3 aircraft from this manufacturer.
- ATR 72-212: this is a model of the ATR 72. It can carry 72 passengers over a distance of 1600 km.
- ATR 72-600: this is the latest version of the ATR 72 (which made its maiden flight in 2009). It can carry 44 to 78 passengers over a distance of 1,400 km.
- ATR 42-500: this is a model of the ATR 42. It can carry 48 passengers over a distance of 1,500 km.
Amelia and Embraer aircraft
Amelia is equipped with several categories of aircraft from the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer. These regional aircraft are ideal for group flights, but can also be adapted for medical evacuations.
Amelia has equipped its fleet with several models of Brazilian Embraer aircraft. These regional aircraft are ideal for group flights and can also be used for medical evacuations.
- Embraer 145: these aircraft can carry up to 50 passengers on journeys of up to 2,900 km.
- Embraer 135 ER and LR: these aircraft can carry up to 37 passengers over distances of 2,400 km for the Embraer 135 ER model and 3,150 km for the Embraer 135 LR model.
- Embraer 135 medical: the cabin of this aircraft can be modified to carry up to 3 stretchers with medical equipment, while keeping 12 seats available. It is used for medical evacuation missions.
A Beechcraft aircraft in Amélia’s fleet:
To complete its fleet of aircraft, Amelia has acquired an aircraft from the American aircraft manufacturer Beechcraft.
- Beech 1900C: this is the old version of the Beech 1900D, with a higher cabin. The Beech 1900C carries up to 19 passengers over a distance of 2,500 km.
Amélia owns an Airbus aircraft
To complete its range of services, Amelia has added an Airbus A319 to its fleet. This aircraft has 144 seats in the cabin. It can cover distances of up to 5,185 km.
