It is based at Roissy-CDG airport. This national airline operates regular flights in France and to North African countries such as Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria. We would like to introduce you to ALS Airlines France, its activities, its modes of transport and its fleet of Boeing aircraft.

History of ASL Airlines France

  • 1991 : On 22 March of that year, the following entities: La Poste, Air France, Touraine Air Transport (TAT) and Air Inter created SEA, Société d’Exploitation Aéropostale. The company’s aircraft are from the American manufacturer Boeing. During the day, the airline’s fleet of aircraft operated as a passenger transport service. At night, the planes are modulated by removing the seats and are then requisitioned as cargo planes to transport mail and parcels in particular.
  • 1995: TAT withdrew from the company. SEA is then managed by Air France and La Poste on an equal footing.
  • 1999: the company’s fleet is diversified, with 6 cargo aircraft of 2 different models. Half are ATR 72s, the other half Airbus A300s.
  • 2000: Air France withdraws from SEA. The airline is now managed solely by La Poste. The company’s name is changed to Europe Airpost.
  • 2004: Regular routes are set up and managed by ASL Airlines (still known as Europe Airpost). The aeronautical company operates regular routes to and from cities such as Brest, Toulon and Paris Roissy airport (Charles de Gaulle). It is a partner of another Brest-based airline, Flywest. Flywest is the first airline to offer discount flights in France. Following its partnership, the destinations served diversified, and the company now offers flights to Chambéry and Ajaccio.
  • 2005: the partnership between ASL Airlines France and Flywest came to an end. The aeronautical company prefers to concentrate its activities on cargo, freight and charter flights.
  • 2007: this year the airline is sold to Air Contractors, the airline owned by the Irish group ASL Aviation. ASL Airlines France is based at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. The French airline has a fleet of Boeing aircraft for transporting passengers as well as air freight and cargo flights.
ASL Airlines France operates scheduled flights in France, Europe and the Mediterranean basin, including Tunisia.
  • 2010: ASL Airlines France acquires a new aircraft from American manufacturer Boeing. It is the first airline in France to acquire a Boeing 737-700.
As a little anecdote, that year the airline brought the French football team back to Paris Le Bourget, having returned a little earlier than expected from their World Cup tournament.
That same year, Europe Airpost (later ASL Airlines France) was one of the top two French airlines, just behind the national carrier Air France.
  • 2013: the airline announces more regular flights between several major cities, such as Paris and Glasgow, Brest or Rennes and Grenoble, or Brive and Brest with Porto. It is also setting up a partnership to carry passengers overseas from Saint Pierre and Miquelon.
  • 2015: ASL Aviation Group, which owns the airline, decides to unify the names of its airlines. Europe Airpost became ASL Airlines France. The aim of the Irish group was to have a common name that would unify all the entities and stand out from the crowd.
  • 2017: a new route is opened between Paris CDG and Algiers, and another between Paris CDG and Chlef.
  • Today, ASL Airlines France is managed by its CEO, Jean-François Dominiak.
