The speed of a private jet depends on the model, but some clearly stand out as the fastest in the world. To measure this performance, we use the kilometer per hour, but also the Mach, a unit that corresponds to the speed of sound (around 1,230 km/h).
By way of comparison, the fastest aircraft ever built is the BlackBird, an American military aircraft capable of reaching Mach 3.32, or over 3,500 km/h. Dassault’s Mirage 2000, meanwhile, approaches Mach 1.9, with a top speed of 2,336 km/h.
In business aviation, private jets don’t reach these military records, but some come close, flirting with the speed of sound. These aircraft considerably reduce the duration of long-haul journeys, while offering perfect comfort.
